Q. How long will it take for you to install a security camera system?
Most installations take less than a day to install and will be done on a day that is convenient for you
Q. How long can I store video on my DVR/NVR?
This depends on a lot of variables, including: hard drive size, motion recording or continuous, recording frame rate per channel, image resolution per channel, etc. Typically we work this problem backwards and asks the customer how many days they want to save the video for at a minimum and then consider all the above variables, including hard drive size.
Q. Can I view live and recorded video remotely?
Yes, all of our Security camera systems are Internet enabled. You can view live and recorded video from anywhere through the Internet. This can be done on a pc, mac, or generally any mobile device such as a smart phone or tablet.
Q. What kind of broadband internet do I need? How much bandwidth?
Basic DSL or cable will suffice in most cases. For remote viewing, “upload” speed is most important. Generally, 1 Meg upload speed is sufficient.
Q. Are there any monthly charges associated with your security camera systems?
No, once you purchase the system you own it. There are no associated fees.
Q. Do I need battery backup for my security camera system?
YES YOU DO!! You want an Uninterruptible Power Supply with around 1000VA or more of battery backup. You also want the ability to plug at least 2 things into the battery-backed outlets provided. Those two items are your DVR and your camera power supply. So if you have a power outage your security cameras will still get juice and your DVR will still be recording. We typically include this battery backup in all of our quotes.
Q. Can I record audio?
Yes, all of our security camera systems comes with an audio option you can record audio. Most analog cameras do not come with built in audio, so you will probably need a separate camera microphone.
Q. How many cameras do I need?
This will depend on the size and layout of the area you wish to survey. On average, we recommend one camera per 1000 Sq. Ft.
Q. Are these cameras weather proof?
Almost all of the cameras we use, indoor and outdoor are weather proof. They are IP66 Complaint. This means they have been tested and found to be completely dust proof, and waterproof against strong jets of water. They are able to withstand against the harshest weather conditions.
